Disney sought to embrace gaming and esports communities, looking to tap into the prominent overlap of gaming fans and Star Wars fans during the theatrical release and subsequent Blue-Ray and digital at-home release of the saga’s finale: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

We at Ader paired the Disney Star Wars brand with one of the largest and winningest professional esports teams: The San Francisco Shock.

A UNIQUE OBSTICAL
What began as an involved strategy of content, events, and an in-person spectacle soon shifted in light of the Covid-19 pandemic as a stay-at-home culture arose from necessity. 

STREAMY AWARD NOMINATION
During the short campaign flight, SF Shock’s Rise of Skywalker Duel of the Fates content recieved a nomination for the 10th Annual Streamy Awards in the “Multi-Platform Campaign” category, ultimately losing out to Disney themselves with their global launch of the Disney+ streaming service.
